Quentin character arc, thus far

Quentin, the main character of Paper Towns, is a very quiet, yet sophisticated character. He is very intelligent, and really thinks about the consequences of his actions, and thoroughly develops his plans before he takes them into action. But he is also very strong willed, and let’s his feelings and fears get in the way of his actions most of the time. For example, when he found an address Margo had left for him as a clue to finding her, he went the next morning, as soon as he could, but he didn’t really think too much about the dangers of going to a random address. This building, was abandoned, and Q wasn’t prepared for the dark and desolate building they were walking into. This was because Q acted out of impulse, and let his emotions and love for Margo get the best of him.
I believe I connect with the character because I too let my emotions get the best of me, but I also think about the consequences of my actions like Q in certain situations. When Q says “In an hour, if I hurried, I could be looking at her,” I understand why he’s acting out of impulse, because he loves Margo, and after knowing an extra clue I feel as though he’s going to go to very far lengths to find her. Margo is Q’s friend and neighbor and has affected him in a lot of ways, as she helped him come out of his shell more, and he fell in love with her. Margo is very outgoing, and Q was very quiet, and she helped him to be more upfront, he truly connected with her. I think this connection they have is his true motivation to find Margo.

I like the excitement and adventure that Margo and Q go on, by “righting wrongs and wronging rights.“ Margo forces Q out of his comfort zone, and i really like that about the book because I feel as if i should do the same. There is nothing much I dislike, but as the story goes on i’m sure i’ll disagree with some points in the book. But, for the most part, I thoroughly enjoy the book, it has the perfect amount of suspense and adventure that keeps you excited and on the edge of your seat.         The current problem in the book is that Margo’s boyfriend Jase cheated on her, with her bestfriend Becca, so Margo takes her neighbor Quentin, mostly referred to as Q, on an eleven part or “phase” adventure to get revenge on them. They begin this escapade in the middle of the night, around one o’clock in the morning on a school night using Q’s mom‘s minivan to ”right“ their “wrongs“ and “wro...
